A politician loves political games, but a public servant loves serving the people.
I’m here to work, not play games.
In government, all decisions should come down to only two things – policy or ethics. Leave the games and back-rooms deals out of it.
If it is strictly a policy issue, I firmly believe my vote should be the collective voice of the majority of the people of the 120th District.
However, if it is an ethical issue, I will not compromise my principles and Christian beliefs. The Bible provides my moral compass, and I pray for wisdom and guidance in applying God’s Word in today’s world, from being a father and husband to serving as your state representative.
I have made plenty of mistakes throughout my life and I know I am not always correct. Therefore, I always try to maintain a spirit of humility and an open mind for listening to and understanding others. That includes interpreting scripture, because not every issue we face in society today will have a perfectly clear answer.
It is written that I will give an account of myself before God. It will not be a perfect account, and for that I’m thankful for His forgiveness and redeeming grace. But once the answer is clear to me on ethical issues, I will not deviate from what I believe to be right in God’s eyes.
