The Kansas Livestock Association (KLA) announced Thursday it is endorsing local rancher Adam Smith for the Kansas House of Representatives 120th district in the upcoming November 8th general election.
Smith was pleased with the announcement, saying "The KLA represents a lot of hard-working Kansans, and I am honored to receive their full support."
Adam and his wife, Christine, are the third generation to own and operate his family's farm and ranch in northwest Kansas. They have three young children, Austin, Kaitlyn, and Allison.
"I am committed to fighting for the livestock industry and all of agriculture." said Smith, "I want to ensure we are able to pass our livelihood and legacy down to future generations."
The Kansas Livestock Association is a 122 year-old trade association representing over 5,200 members on legislative and regulatory issues. KLA members are involved in many aspects of the livestock industry, including seedstock, cow-calf and stocker production, cattle feeding, dairy production, grazing land management and diversified farming operations.
